Aside from one of the best French Alps skiing destinations, Alpe d'Huez hosts one of the stages in Tour de France. Although the stages changes each year, Alpe d'Huez is always chosen to be part of the competition since 1952. What makes this place attractive to the rides is because of the challenge it poses. In this stage, the riders will have to go uphill and the uphill is almost 14 kilometers without any chances of experiencing an even surface.
